AntiGravity Yoga is for everyone. Once you understand your fulcrum point and distribute your weight evenly in the hammock, you will easily flow through each exercise, stretching and lengthening your spine. This is a powerful method of focusing your mind as it floats the body through a series of activities, deeply opening the entire spine, hips and connective the body. We will take you on a journey into realigning, lengthening the spine and self-healing. We guide you on the ancient healing aspects of meditation, Mindful breathing, and inner awareness of the physical benefits of an antigravity hammock. Aerial Yoga is a unique fusion technique that relieves compressed joints and aligns the body from head to toe. The Aerial Hammock acts as a soft trapeze and support while you master simple inversions and progress to more advanced poses. You will be amazed at what you will achieve in the four weeks. You will see changes in your body shape and improved strength.
Developed by former gymnast and dancer Christopher Harrison, AntiGravity® Yoga provides a workout that allows you to stretch and strengthen without putting stress on your joints or compressing your vertebrae.
The key to aerial Yoga is the hammock, a swath of silky fabric that acts as your support system. Your hammock is your dance partner. Using the hammock, you learn to invert and hang the air. The hammock supports your hips for forward bends and backbends. It acts as your seat for any number of variations of exercises.
It can be looped around one foot as you stand on the other for applications reminiscent of an Iyengar-style ropes wall. Best of all, the hammock wraps you in your little cocoon for a swaying or chilling out.
All moves are derived from Pilates, dance, callisthenics, suspension training, and Yoga. Your body will change shape quickly and easily, creating strength, a longer, leaner body, and flexibility. Aerial yoga poses offer a new way to cultivate stability and flexibility.
This practice of awareness, which merges the quest for mindful body, spirit & physical expansion, and the pursuit of enlightenment, has been a natural extension of our growth.

Anti-Aging
AntiGravity® denotes fighting against the aging effects of gravity. As the body ages, the joints must be pushed to support mobility. The muscles need to be maintained in proper alignment, and the discs need to be hydrated to decrease deterioration. If we don’t use it, we lose it.

Physical grace comes from trained kinaesthetic awareness—aerial Yoga feelings of pride in creating beauty. Balance, body line, and independence on fine-tuned proprioception (sensory receptors). This is best accomplished through a range of motion through many physical planes.
